Join the MCB Vision Rehabilitation Teaching (VRT) team and MCB interns and students in the UMass Boston’s Vision Studies MEd program for virtual instruction to discuss vision rehabilitation tips and resources. MCB presents Independent Living Hour bi-weekly on Tuesdays at 3 pm ET. Services are planned and provided on an individual based on the person's needs, interests and aptitudes. Specialized teaching services, including some fairly simple devices and techniques, can improve an individual who is legally blind's quality of life. Skills evaluation and instruction occurs in the home, assisted living facilities, long term care facilities and on their job sites. Rehabilitation Teachers or Vision Rehabilitation Therapists instruct individuals with vision impairments in the use of compensatory skills and assistive technology to enable them to live safe, productive, and independent lives.
